Repercussão do padrão alimentar sobre a função sexual de homens e mulheres

Resumo

Uma revisão sobre dieta e saúde sexual foi realizada por meio de busca no PubMed. As principais medidas de desfecho foram as pontuações em escalas da função sexual feminina e masculina e suas disfunções específicas.

Encontrou-se que síndrome metabólica afeta negativamente a função sexual. A obesidade também pode prejudicar. A disfunção endotelial resulta do excesso de inflamação pela síndrome metabólica e pela obesidade, levando a prejuízo do fluxo sanguíneo para os órgãos geniturinários. Há, portanto, uma associação fisiopatológica entre essas doenças e a disfunção sexual. Pacientes com transtornos alimentares também sofrem de morbidade sexual devida a doenças psiquiátricas comórbidas e hipogonadismo induzido por emagrecimento. Dados promissores mostram que a dieta mediterrânea ajuda a aliviar a disfunção sexual, mas outros padrões alimentares exigem investigação mais formal. A incorporação de padrões alimentares saudáveis à vida cotidiana pode influenciar positivamente a função sexual. Mais pesquisas são necessárias para confirmar o alcance desses indícios.
