RESUMO
A literatura tem relatado associações entre bulimia nervosa (BN), impulsividade, aumento da atividade sexual e hipersexualidade, de modo a considerar que a ausência de controle dos impulsos também leva a padrões de alimentação e comportamento sexual descontrolados. A psicopatologia dos transtornos alimentares e dos transtornos sexuais está profundamente conectada. Estudos com ressonância magnética funcional (RMf) sugerem o envolvimento de circuitos de recompensa compartilhados nos déficits comportamentais da BN. Fatores de risco da hipersexualidade (impulsividade, insatisfação corporal, histórico de abuso) são encontrados em indivíduos com BN. Dificuldades interpessoais, intimidade prejudicada, estilo de apego inseguro e histórico de abuso na infância desempenham papel fundamental na conexão dessas duas condições. Bulímicos com baixo autocontrole e desregulação emocional relatam funcionamento sexual impulsivo e descontrolado, bem como tendência à adição de álcool e drogas, além de insatisfação com a autoimagem. Também é sugerido que comportamentos purgativos na BN possam estar associados ao comportamento sexual descontrolado, devido ao traço de personalidade impulsiva. São necessários mais estudos sobre transtornos da sexualidade e alimentares, com foco na psicopatologia e nos sintomas de ambos. Estudos transversais se beneficiarão de amostras maiores que investiguem interesses e conhecimento sexuais, função sexual, autoestima sexual, hipersexualidade e comportamento sexual de risco na população com transtornos alimentares.
