Abstract

O tromboembolismo venoso tem grande prevalência nas mais diversas áreas da medicina e está associado a altos índices de morbimortalidade. Sua profilaxia está bem estabelecida em certas situações, e muito se tem estudado a esse respeito. No entanto, a adesão dos serviços de saúde à tromboprofilaxia ainda está muito aquém do ideal. Neste artigo, abordamos os atuais métodos de tromboprofilaxia em pacientes clínicos (com especial atenção para os oncológicos) e cirúrgicos.
